“Kibbutz” Fund will award an annual prize of $2,000 for a \u00a0completed research paper of publication that will contribute:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

  1. New Knowledge or expertise promoting the economic productivity of the kibbutz today and in the future.<\/li>
  2. New Knowledge or expertise that will improve the kibbutz work and income structure.<\/li>
  3. New knowledge or expertise that will strengthen community life, based on fundamental kibbutz values.<\/li><\/ol>

    Kibbutz: The Cooperative Community<\/strong><\/p>

    The purpose of \u201cKibbutz\u201d is to develop knowledge and marshal support for sustained improvement in the quality of life, innovativeness, and productivity of the kibbutz as a thoroughly modern, thriving, cooperative community relevant for the 21 st century. <\/span><\/p>

    The kibbutz was founded early in the 20th century by men and women committed to building a nation for Jews in a society emphasizing creativity and productivity, consensual decision-making, and democratic organization of communities and work. <\/span><\/p>

    The kibbutz core values engender solidarity, trust, and mutual support. <\/span><\/p>

    Kibbutz values include a commitment to consensus decision-making and placing a high value on democracy and the equality of all members. These values provide the kibbutz with a built-in strength of achieving optimum production and maximum justice. <\/span><\/p>

    These core values helped to shape a productive community, based on active democracy rather than hierarchy; solidarity and mutual trust rather than unrestricted competition; simplicity and aesthetic taste, as opposed to conspicuous consumption and unlimited accumulation of profit and power. <\/span><\/p>

    The fundamental values of the kibbutz encourage and enable flexibility in both economic and communal planning, and a process by which the community as a whole learns from past errors. <\/span><\/p>

    Kibbutz values have always encouraged activities aimed towards peace and coexistence with its neighbors. <\/span><\/p>

    \u201cKibbutz\u201d was established with the purpose of encouraging researchers and philosophers from Israel and other countries who are able and willing to contribute their moral support and knowledge to strengthen the fundamental principles of the kibbutz idea. <\/span><\/p>

    We, the founders of \u201cKibbutz\u201d Fund, believe that it is possible to maintain a successful community that functions in accordance with the principle: \u201cfrom each according to his\/her ability, to each according to his\/her need\u201d. <\/span><\/p>

    Adherence to this principle, we believe, will ensure the future of the kibbutz. <\/span><\/p>

    The prize \u00a0will be awarded every year in December.
    Submission, including a C.V. should be made every year between January and August 31.
